Exceptional antique Hand Painted Nippon porcelain tobacco humidor dating approximately 1911–1921, identified by the desirable M-in-Wreath NIPPON backstamp associated with Morimura Brothers.
This unusual three-handled porcelain humidor features a beautifully rounded body with delicate pastel hand-painted decoration, dark green edging, elaborate raised Moriage ornamentation, and a matching decorated lid.
The lid features a striking raised finial and additional scenic decoration, while the three applied handles are enhanced with ornate raised relief work.
The underside carries the “Hand Painted” / M-in-Wreath / “NIPPON” mark. The M-in-wreath mark was introduced in 1911 and the Nippon version is generally associated with the 1911–1921 period.
